well, God sometimes makes sure we aren't becoming too
comfortable...due to big financial challenges at faith community
church, my position will be eliminated at the end of this month.
this has been heartbreaking for Danelle and me, as we so love the
people of this church. we didn't feel ready to move on, but
obviously, God has plans to use us in some different place and/or
manner. please pray for us as we seek His perfect will for our
family - we know Romans 8:28 is 100% true!

i become convinced more and more that the best way i
can show & tell (no pun intended) others about Jesus is to stay
completely in love with Him. if i focus too much on doing the right
things for Him, I stop simply spending time worshipping,
adoring and delighting in His presence. the greatest gift God has
given us truly is Himself! Psalm 73:25 says - "whom have i in heaven
but You, and besides You, i desire nothing on earth." may the
Lord help us long to know and love Him above everything else
in life! (ala Philippians 1:21).

my, how time flies when you're married, have four kids
& serve at a busy church! God is doing exciting things at Faith
Community, our church home. we move into a new sanctuary next sunday, after many years of preparation! as excited as i
am about having a great sound system & beautiful room, i'm
concerned about liking the new place
too much...1 Corinthians 3:16 (NASB) says: "Do you not know that
you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?" i
don't want to become attached to or comfortable in any
earthly building; the Lord, by His Spirit, now dwells in me and all
members of His
body, the church! the worship we give Him should be just as fervent
whether offered in a damp, dingy basement or beautiful new facility!

Christmas is upon us once again, and i'm
struggling with the irony
of meditating on the wondrous, unfathomable Incarnation of God's Son at the busiest time of year! i'm struck by a particular verse this year, which reminds
us of the undeserved, priceless gift God has given us in Jesus Christ: "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf,
so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (2 Corinthians 5:21 NASB)
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

i can hardly believe summer is more than half over! our family has been busy with many activities, including a fantastic VBS week at our church
(faith community), where my son jesse
played drums and daughter brenna sang and led hand motions -
what an incredible blessing! i also had the privilege of leading worship for the fishermen's conferences at
hume lake this past spring.
it was wonderful to have several amazingly talented musicians from our church in the band. also, i was able to record
rhythm tracks for five new songs in hume's brand new studio, a
result of brent lamb's vision!

it's finished! in retro specs, the "best-of" cd i've been compiling and re-mastering for the past
two years is complete! i'm very excited to have what i feel
are my strongest songs, tweaked to sound better than ever, on one
album. the project also contains two previously unreleased high-energy live recordings from
hume lake and two early song demos.
stylistically, the cd covers a lot of ground, but i believe the messages and music have stood the test of time
quite well (OK, the rap song is dated, but still fun to listen to!).
the album can be ordered now through my cd store!

wow! where do i start? the past few years have been very busy and exciting for the mills family.
our kids continue to grow unreasonably fast and life seems to
accelerate exponentially! danelle and
i commented the other day that all those people who said "you won't believe how fast time with your children flies"
were actually right! if you're one of them, i'm sorry for rolling my eyes at you!
it's hard to believe, but a year
and a half ago, i took a new position as worship pastor at
faith community church, leaving
grace baptist after nearly eight years of exciting ministry. it was hard to leave such a wonderful family of friends, both in the congregation
and on the worship teams; however, the Lord clearly prompted and directed us to make this change.
a year and a half here at faith community church has certainly flown, and what a wonderful time we're having! the people have
welcomed us so warmly and expressed appreciation so consistenly that it's a tremendous privelege and pleasure to serve. it still
seems odd to some (even us, at times) that the Lord moved us to a different church across town, but He knows what He's doing, and this
is right where he wants us at this point in our lives.
